Forest Hills Runners had its third Saturday run this past weekend with our biggest Saturday turnout yet. We celebrated the occassion with a brand new run that none of us had ever tried before - well, it turned out that Ruben had done it before, but it was new for the rest of us. That run - a big old loop through Arnold Arboretum, which turns out to be a tiny bit hilly. Some of us were pleased by this because it made us feel tougher than kevlar and mean enough to fight a bear. Others were unconvinced. And yet we all made it back in one piece. It was a beautiful morning for a run and I was really happy to be able to share it with others. The last two weeks have also been excellent, with new runners showing up on almost every run.
Another exciting thing that has happened over the past week that I have been meaning to mention for a while is the union of the JP Running Club and Forest Hills Runners. We hope that working together will help us reach out to more runners in JP and help us to support a stronger JP running community. A special thanks to Cameron, JP Running Club's founder, for making that happen. I look forward to meeting others from the area on runs in the future.
Here's what'll be on our uniforms when we get them together sometime later this summer or in the early fall. We'll definitely be wearing them when we race Mayor's Cup together.
